Conference `Comparative Media Studies in Today`s World`


School of Journalism and Mass Communication of St Petersburg State University, with the support of The Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Centre for German and European Studies (SPbSU - Bielefeld University), invites to the 6th international conference  "Comparative Media Studies in Today`s World", that will take place on April 17-19, 2018.

Conference topic of this year:  “Emotions vs. Rationality in Mediated Discussions”.

More than 50 participants from 10 countries, including the United States, Great Britain, Germany, China, and Russia, will discuss why emotions have rushed into media space again, whether there is still a rational discussion in social networks, how to evaluate emotions in visual communication, and other important topics.

Keynote speakers of the conference are: "Queen of the Internet" Zizi Papacharissi, University of Illinois in Chicago, and member of the Scopus board for Communication science Karin Wahl-Jorgensen, University of Cardiff, UK.
