CGES session “Dimensions of Studying and Building Innovation Clusters: European Lessons” at the conference in Tomsk

On September 12, 2014 together with the Department of International Competitiveness and Network Interactions of the Institute of Economics, Russian Academy of Sciences, CGES held a session “Dimensions of Studying and Building Innovation Clusters: European Lessons” at “The Triple Helix and Innovation-Based Economic Growth: New Fronties and Solutions” in Tomsk, Russia. The session was co-chaired by Nikita Basov and Nataliya Smorodinskaya.

At the session Nikita Basov and Vera Minina presented a joint paper “Interpersonal Networks in Science, Education and Business Collaboration: The Case of Maritime Cluster of Algarve, Portugal”. The results of formal network analysis demonstrate that emotional aspect of interpersonal interactions is more important for establishing partnerships between science, education and business than intectual influence or frequency of contacts between employees.

The paper was developed within CGES research area “Network Structures in Germany, Europe and Russia”.
